Alabama State University theater students won’t have to wait for the effects of a freshly-signed partnership with Alabama Shakespeare Festival.
Brian Martin, ASU's interim chair for the Department of Theatre Arts, said student training begins “right now” in technical areas like costuming, lighting, sound and other fields.
“They’re ready to take a group of 10 now (at ASF),” Martin said.
A memorandum of understanding was signed Thursday during a Zoom meeting between ASU President Quinton T. Ross Jr. and Rick Dildine, ASF’s artistic director, to establish technical training at the theater for Alabama State students.
