Theater student technical training: Alabama State inks deal with Alabama Shakespeare Festival

Alabama State University theater students won’t have to wait for the effects of a freshly-signed partnership with Alabama Shakespeare Festival. 
Brian Martin, ASU s interim chair for the Department of Theatre Arts, said student training begins “right now” in technical areas like costuming, lighting, sound and other fields. 
“They’re ready to take a group of 10 now (at ASF),” Martin said. 
A memorandum of understanding was signed Thursday during a Zoom meeting between ASU President Quinton T. Ross Jr. and Rick Dildine, ASF’s artistic director, to establish technical training at the theater for Alabama State students.  ....
