Announcement may come as soon as March 23 Board meeting
New Bern residents frustrated with the lack of options for internet service may soon have a reason to celebrate. During the March 9 Board of Aldermen meeting it was announced that the City is in discussions with a company that could provide an alternative to Suddenlink, the main internet provider in Craven County.
Colleen Roberts, City of New Bern public information officer, has since confirmed that MetroNet is the internet provider under consideration. She stressed that, should the company choose to do business in New Bern, the City would have no power to regulate or control its services.
