Swampscott's 2021 election season is earnestly getting underway: As of press time, a half-dozen residents had pulled nomination papers from Swampscott Town Clerk Susan Duplin’s office for town-officer seats.
In this election cycle, eight town-officer seats and at least 108 Town Meeting member seats open up in the Tuesday, April 27 municipal election.
For the three-year term opening on Swampscott Board of Selectmen, Mary Webster of Elmwood Road pulled nomination papers, setting up a potential challenge against Peter Spellios.
Spellios, the chairman of and the most senior member serving on the Swampscott Board of Selectmen, has pulled papers for re-election to a third terms.
