Under the previous scheme, consumers were getting a subsidy of Rs 1,80,000 per KW for 1 KW to 3 KW and an additional Rs 9,000 per KW for above 3 KW up to 10 KW. Residents Welfare Associations (RWA) could also avail subsidy up to 500 KW at the rate of Rs 9,000 per KW. The new Yojana, however, makes no mention of subsidies for RWAs.
