India could bid out 1 GW of offshore wind capacity under the viability gap funding (VGF) scheme and issue guidelines for the PM-Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana within 100 days of the next government taking charge. Under the previous scheme, consumers were getting a subsidy of Rs 1,80,000 per KW for 1 KW to 3 KW and an additional Rs 9,000 per KW for above 3 KW up to 10 KW. Residents Welfare Associations (RWA) could also avail subsidy up to 500 KW at the rate of Rs 9,000 per KW. The new Yojana, however, makes no mention of subsidies for RWAs. ....
