Dimapur, Oct. 25 (EMN): The chief medical officer (CMO) of Kiphire, Dr. Chubala Aier, launched the Surakshit Matritva Aashwasan (SUMAN) scheme in the conference hall of District Hospital, Kiphire, on October 25. Speaking at the launch event, Dr. Chubala stated that SUMAN scheme is a significant initiative that aims at providing dignified and quality healthcare services to every woman and newborn visiting a facility. She stated that the scheme was an initiative by the government of India to put an end to preventable maternal and newborn deaths in the country, stated an update from the CMO’s office. While urging the gathering to disseminate awareness of the scheme to the communities, Dr. Chubala called upon the medical department to coordinate with other line departments to ensure successful implementation of the scheme. “All of us are involved in this and everyone should work together that this scheme would be a success in our district,” she said.
