A 27-year-old Stratford man is facing assault, forcible-confinement and other charges as a result of a domestic-violence investigation, Stratford police said in a press release issued Wednesday afternoon.
In the release, police said they were contacted shortly before 9 a.m. Monday about a woman who had fled from an apartment on Home Street, seeking refuge at a neighbouring business.

After speaking with the woman, police determined she had allegedly been the victim of domestic violence. When officers arrived at the apartment, they found the alleged perpetrator had fled, so police issued a warrant for his arrest on charges of assault causing bodily harm, assault, uttering threats, forcible confinement and breach of probation.
