A classic March storm system cut Minnesota in half on Wednesday, warranting winter storm warnings to the north and severe weather to the south, including a tornado watch that preceded multiple tornado warnings.
Tornado warnings were issued in multiple counties south of Minneapolis-St. Paul, though it's yet to be determined if a twister actually touched down. Pictures from near Waseca and Faribault revealed ominous clouds that may have been a tornado.
Hail the size of golf balls fell in the south and east Twin Cities metro, with official storm reports submitted to the National Weather Service including balls of ice ranging from 1 inch to 1.75 inches inches in diameter in Rosemount, Inver Grove Heights and South St. Paul.
