State data Thursday showed 28 new confirmed COVID-19 positives and again no new deaths in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula.
The Michigan Department of Health and Human Services’ COVID-19 data site Thursday indicated 14 new cases in Houghton County, five in Delta County, four in Marquette County, three in Chippewa County and one each in Gogebic and Baraga counties.
Using only the state’s figures, the Upper Peninsula as of Thursday has had 16,388 confirmed COVID-19 cases and 383 deaths.
Across the U.P., the MDHHS data site Thursday had Keweenaw County at 115 confirmed cases and 29 probable, and one death and one probable death; Luce County, 132 confirmed cases and 85 probable, one probable death; Schoolcraft County, 229 confirmed cases and 28 probable, four deaths and one probable; Alger County, 277 confirmed, 157 probable and one death, four probable; Mackinac County, 290 confirmed cases and 151 probable, three deaths; Ontonagon County, 359 confirmed, 52 probable and 19 deaths, one probable; Baraga County, 506 confirmed cases, 99 probable and 32 deaths; Chippewa County, 719 confirmed cases and 1,030 probable, and 23 deaths, four probable; Iron County, 866 confirmed cases and 61 probable, 40 confirmed deaths and nine probable; Gogebic County, 927 confirmed cases and 340 probable, 19 confirmed deaths and 28 probable; Menominee County, 1,614 confirmed cases, 263 probable and 35 deaths, two probable; Houghton County, 2,122 confirmed cases, 521 probable, 32 confirmed deaths and eight probable; Dickinson County, 2,131 confirmed cases and 239 probable, 55 confirmed deaths and 14 probable; Delta County, 2,649 confirmed cases and 475 probable, 65 confirmed deaths and 19 probable; and Marquette County, 3,452 confirmed cases, 496 probable and 54 deaths, one probable. State numbers are updated almost daily but can lag behind local reports or have other discrepancies.
