Dec 21, Colombo: The health authorities have decided to take legal action against the Chairman of the Agarapathana Pradeshiya Sabha for violating quarantine laws.
Lindula Health Officer Janath Abeygunawardena said Legal action against the Chairman of the Agarapathana PS were taken due to attending a number of meetings without following the quarantine instructions.
The Chairman of the Agarapathana Pradeshiya Sabha has participated in several meetings recently including a meeting attended by Minister CB Ratnayake, Neth News reported.
He has participated in several other meetings and it has been revealed that a number of chairmen, mayors and councilors of Nuwara Eliya, Talawakelle, Lidula, Kotagala, Agarapathana, Norwood, Maskeliya, Ambagamuwa and other councils have attended these meetings, the Medical Officer of Health said.
