A striped back riverfront site is almost ready for its next life as the $800,000 demolition project nears completion.
The works, which took place as part of the proposed Mackay Waterfront Priority Development Area, have opened up gorgeous views of the Pioneer River.

A number of the structural supporting timber piers will be left in their original location to acknowledge the footprint of the former Seafresh building.
"Salvaged timbers from the demolished building are likely to be incorporated into the riverside design to capture a part of history," council documents read.
