South Bend honoring 13 leaders for Black History Month

The city of South Bend the the Black History Month Committee are honoring 13 local leaders who've made important contributions to the city's history and culture.
“It’s important to recognize our local African-American leaders, who do tremendous work to strengthen our community,” said Mayor James Mueller, in a statement. “I thank the Black History Month committee for celebrating these contributions and the impact the honorees make in South Bend.”a
Each of the awardees will be featured on a series of digital billboards and will be honored at the Black History Month Celebration, which will be held virtually at 6 p.m. Thursday.
