Utility crews were making progress restoring power to Massachusetts customers whose homes went dark during a potent wind storm that generated a 76-mile-per-hour gust in Provincetown and slowly faded away Tuesday.
Power outages tracked by the Massachusetts Emergency Management
Agency were in excess of 30,000 customers in the morning, but by 5 p.m., the outage total declined to about 7,000 statewide.
