Smoke causes a haze over the Knoxville skyline, as seen from Sharps Ridge on Tuesday, April 6, 2021.
There's no wildfire in Knoxville and the surrounding counties, despite the smoke hovering over the region.
Smoke that was reported by residents of Anderson, Blount, Knox and Loudon counties is from controlled burns in Oak Ridge, Knox County emergency dispatchers confirmed on Tuesday morning. The smoke was strong enough to require air quality warnings for sensitive groups.
