Shoppers and Wall Street wowed by Etsy ahead of Christmas season

'I'll just go for it': Focusing on online selling
"I barely used Etsy at all before the pandemic," said Long, whose Etsy site is called ValAndViolet.
"But when the art shows shut down, I was in a panic and decided, 'Hey, I'll just go for it' and started posting on Etsy and Instagram (which directs traffic to the Etsy site)." 
It paid off. So far this year, Long has received 118 Etsy orders, up from 17 she received during the same period in 2019.
"For me, it's been wildly successful in terms of a way to solve a problem," said Long, who teaches art at Centennial High School.
