Shasta County Supervisors appoint Anderson Police Chief as Sheriff
There's a new sheriff in town, in Shasta County to be specific. Shasta County Supervisors voted 4-to-1 to appoint Anderson Police Chief Michael Johnson as the next sheriff of the county.

REDDING, Calif. - There's a new sheriff in town, in Shasta County to be specific. Shasta County Supervisors voted 4-to-1 to appoint Anderson Police Chief Michael Johnson as the next sheriff of the county.
Supervisors Joe Chimenti, Mary Rickert, Les Baugh, and Leonard Moty voted in favor to appoint Johnson. Only Supervisor Patrick Jones was against the appointment. Anderson City Council members also came to Tuesday’s meeting to endorse Johnson as the next sheriff of the county.
