KLANG: The Malaysian Maritime Enforcement Agency (MMEA) has seized over RM3mil worth of syabu and ecstasy bound for Indonesia in a dramatic chase that saw a 70-year-old suspect lose his life.
The suspect died after the alleged drug runners' vessel collided with an MMEA patrol boat at around 11pm on Sunday (May 30).
Two other suspects were arrested in the incident, MMEA deputy director-general (operations) Rear Admiral (Maritime) Kamaruszaman Abu Hassan said.
He said the patrol team spotted a suspicious-looking boat with three suspects on board south-west of Sungai Kapar Kecil.
Kamaruszaman said the team, which was part of Ops Belangkas patrolling the Selangor coast, stopped the boat about 3.4 nautical miles south-west of the river.
