曾任毛澤東秘書的已故中共元老李銳生前的日記，現在成為史丹佛大學與其遺孀跨國爭訟的對象。「李銳日記」裡對中共總書記習近平的描述，在美中關係緊張之際引起關注。李銳生於1917年，曾任中共中央組織部副部長，於1950年代擔任毛澤東的秘書，是中共體制內自由派的代表人物，他因批評毛澤東的政策入獄、被監禁20年；2019年2月病逝於北京，享嵩壽101歲。
