Second medical team from NZ and Australia arrives in Fiji

The rapid response has been welcomed in Fiji where health authorities have reported another ten deaths from Covid-19 over the past week, taking the death toll to 69. The number of active cases in Fiji has tipped over the 10,000 mark with 634 reported in the last day
A Royal Australian Air Force C-17A Globemaster III aircraft from Brisbane, carrying 17 medical specialists and additional resources including PPE and three ambulances, touched down at Nadi Airport yesterday.
Foreign Minister Nanaia Mahuta said a second group of New Zealand medical personnel was deployed as part of the joint Australian and New Zealand Medical Assistance Team to support Fiji's ongoing covid response.
