The hockey season might not be over yet for Prince Albert’s Braden Schneider.
According to a Tweet from TSN’s Darren Dreger on Tuesday afternoon, the 19-year-old defenceman will be among the players on Canada’s roster for the 2021 IIHF World Men’s Hockey Championship, which will be held from May 21 to June 6 in Riga, Latvia.
The 19th overall selection in the 2020 NHL Entry Draft by the New York Rangers, Schneider is coming off a stellar campaign in the East Division hub as the captain for the Brandon Wheat Kings.
He posted 27 points in 22 games in Regina to help his team win their first division title since 2016.
