An 82-year-old man from Runcorn, Cheshire, has become the first patient to receive a Covid-19 vaccine at Warrington Hospital.
James White received the dose from occupational health nurse Lorraine Kenyon at the hospital’s vaccination hub, which opened on Tuesday.
A hospital spokeswoman said Mr White said he was “just looking forward to being able to go and visit his grandchildren” when possible.
His vaccination was then completed by Lead Nurse Deb Hatton, after which he said: “I asked about it today at my appointment and they said I could have it, so I jumped at the chance as I want to feel safer and see my family.”
