Richmond Farmers Market celebrates with music, food and art this week

RICHMOND, Ind. — The Richmond Farmers Market will celebrate National Farmers Market Week Aug. 1-7 with music, food trucks and more.
This year's theme is “Farmers Markets Are Essential," reflecting how critical a role farmers markets have played in the food system through the COVID-19 pandemic, according to a release from the Richmond Department of Parks and Recreation.
In addition to safety precautions during the pandemic to keep food accessible, the Richmond Farmers Market has offered incentive programs such as accepting Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program, or SNAP benefits, as well as Pandemic EBT assistance, with all SNAP dollars currently doubled because of ongoing support from Reid Health.
