Rep. Cuellar announces $1.4M in federal funds to Laredo International Airport

Congressman Henry Cuellar (TX-28) announced Saturday $1,430,318 in federal funds to the Laredo International Airport. This funding, awarded through the Federal Aviation Commission’s (FAA) Airport Coronavirus Response Grant Program (ACRGP), will be used to provide economic relief for the airport to prevent, prepare and respond to the pandemic.
“Airports across the country have seen an extreme drop in travel, and consequently, revenue due to the coronavirus pandemic,” Cuellar said. “This funding will be essential in ensuring that our airports can respond and recover from economic hardships. As a senior Appropriator, I am committed to fighting for our transportation and travel industry so we can continue to strengthen our economy and create more jobs. I want to thank Mayor Pete Saenz, City Council members, City Manager Robert Eads, and International Airport Director Jeffrey Miller and the rest of his staff for their dedication to protecting our city’s tourism and transportation industry during these challenging times.”
