At least one electric scooter company is looking to launch its services in Reno despite a rocky history for the novel mode of transportation in the Biggest Little City.
Bird, a California-based scooter company, is looking to expand its scooter program into the city, according to Bird Government Partnerships Manager Rob Singleton.
The goal is to create a "micro-mobility program" — the company's term for e-scooters — that reduces the number of cars on the road, he said.
“We feel pretty confident there is interest to bring micro-mobility back to Reno,” Singleton said. “There’s a huge demand for these service options now because people are able to get out of their homes for the first time in a while. Hot spots like Reno are going to be key.”
