The rare spotted-tail quoll has been discovered in Logan after more than a decade of searching to confirm the species' existence in the area.
Key points:
It is unknown how many of the species remain in the wild in Queensland
Unconfirmed evidence of quolls was found last year at a property in Lyons, adjacent to Undullah
During a Logan City Council flora and fauna survey, scat was collected on a privately owned property in Undullah in the city's west, which was sent to an independent laboratory for testing.
