SOUTH BEND â A recent miscommunication involving the South Bend Housing Authority and Holiday Inn hotels has irked some residents of the Rabbi Shulman Apartments as the housing authority continues to move residents out of the building before a March 8 deadline.
Ahead of expected cold temperatures earlier this month, the housing authority contracted with Holiday Inn for hotel rooms so residents in the Rabbi Shulman building would not be in rooms without adequate heat during the cold spell, the housing authority said.
Over Valentineâs Day weekend, about 20 residents who were staying at the hotel chainâs location on Indiana 933 had to move to a different Holiday Inn on the south side of town off Ireland Road when the Roseland location was bought out for a Notre Dame hockey game.
