Psychedelic Mushrooms Are Still Illegal In Iowa
One member of the Iowa legislature has been pushing to make psychedelic mushrooms legal to use for Iowans. Recreational drug use has been a hot button issue across the country, but the use of psilocybin, which is the chemical found in mushrooms finally reached the Iowa House floor.
According to the psilocybin website, it is classified as a Schedule I Controlled Dangerous Substance in Iowa. Apparently, these specific types of mushroom spores do not have any psilocybin spores, which makes them legal to be bought and sold in 47 of the 50 states.
Iowa Representative Jeff Shipley has been leading the way on this bill for some time, but it has been canned for the time being.
