Prom plans for Wayne County high schools during COVID-19 pandemic

RICHMOND, Ind. — Wayne County high schools didn't have proms in 2020 after the COVID-19 pandemic interrupted the final few months of the school year.
Last year's seniors were deprived of the traditional dance and many other pre-graduation celebrations, and the Class of 2021 has endured even more gaps of that sort during an entire school year unlike any other.
But while some local high schools once again won't host proms due to health and safety concerns, others have approved alternative gatherings in effort to give seniors as exciting a finale as possible while still maintaining a healthy environment.
