PORTSMOUTH – The efforts by a city committee to submit a successful redevelopment plan to federal officials for the Thomas J. McIntyre Federal Building property are facing a series of roadblocks.
First, Michael Kane, a principal in the city's development partner Redgate/Kane, bluntly told McIntyre Subcommittee members late last week the developers didn’t want to meet with federal officials about the redevelopment plan for the property, which was devised by city consultants following a lengthy public input process.
“We’re really not part of this design and so I don’t think we have an interest in being part of that conversation with NPS with regard to this design,” Kane said during a Zoom meeting of the McIntyre Subcommittee late Friday afternoon.
