Port Clinton girls topple Danbury, 51-36

PORT CLINTON — Port Clinton lifted its play in the middle two quarters and defeated rival Danbury, 51-36. The Redskins led 10-9 after the first quarter and outscored the Lakers 27-16 in the middle two quarters to take a 37-25 lead into the fourth.
“Port Clinton played a more aggressive game. We struggled putting the ball in the basket, plus Port Clinton didn’t give us many good looks,” said Danbury coach Dick Heller.Da’Cariya Lanier scored 24 points to lead all scorers, including 11 in the middle two quarters, and Olivia Jackson finished with 14 points.
