The Pocono Record, originally known as the Stroudsburg Daily Times, was founded on April 2, 1894. Since then, the Daily Times became Pocono Record, and the paper has gone through numerous changes: from new owners to new locations.
12 days after our 127th birthday, the newsroom announces another change: the sale of our building, 511 Lenox Street, in Stroudsburg.
The paper will remain operating in the building as a tenant.
"Like many businesses now, we are reimagining how our office space looks," Pocono Record Regional Executive Editor and USA TODAY Network Pennsylvania State Editor Shane Fitzgerald said. "I think this works out really well for our staff at the Pocono Record because we can stay in our great, centralized location and utilize the space we actually need. Working remotely the past year has shown us we can be connected to the office from anywhere. This won't affect our ability to gather great, local content at all, which is ultimately what our readers care about."
