I’m a dog uncle! And last weekend, I got to spend time with my doggy-niece, Bayes. Bayes is a mutt but her DNA test said she’s a mix of Australian cattle dog, shih tzu and poodle. Before she was adopted by my sister and her husband, she was a stray dog in rural Texas. She was adopted in May from the SNARR Northwest Adoption Center in Brewster, NY. We believe Bayes is over a year old.
My sister, Melanie, named Bayes after the statistician and philosopher, Thomas Bayes and his theorem. She uses the Bayes’ theorem in her disease modeling work as she gets her PhD in epidemiology.
