Pedestrian killed when struck by vehicle in Desert Hot Springs was a Palm Desert man, coroner says

A pedestrian who died after being struck by a vehicle in Desert Hot Springs on Thursday has been identified by the coroner's office as Corey Callaghan, 37, of Palm Desert.
The incident happened on Palm Drive, just south of Beacon Way at 7:41 p.m. 
Desert Hot Springs spokesperson Doria Wilms said the motorist involved in the incident remained on the scene and was cooperating with investigators.
The cause of the collision is under investigation.
