She said hand rearing baby birds is time-intensive, with some birds needing constant small feeds as often as every 30 minutes.
Guthrie said the babies need to be kept warm and fed constantly, something she can no longer keep up with alongside her work commitments.
She said it has been a really hard decision, one she has put off for “too long’’.
“I’m gutted that I've had to do this, but something had to give”.
She feels it is the only responsible thing to do and allow her to continue caring for sick and injured adult birds.
There is no doubt she will be faced with turning people away.
