The debate over metal detectors in the House of Representatives has turned into the “The Karen Wars.” House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA), also known as the Karen-In-Chief, ordered security officials to install metal detectors at each entrance to the chamber shortly after the assault on the U.S. Capitol building, ostensibly to prevent crazed gun-toting members of Congress from slaughtering their colleagues.
However, it appears that Pelosi’s decision has not gone over well with lawmakers and Capitol Police officers tasked with enforcing the rules.
House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., ordered security officials to install magnetometers at each entrance to the House chamber after the riot. That sparked arguments between USCP officers guarding the doors as members tried to enter the chamber to vote. Some members just cruised right past the metal detectors, drawing the ire of Capitol Police officers – to say nothing of their colleagues.
