Oklahoma City's Painted Sky Opera tells transgender story with state premiere of 'As One'

Rather than a "museum piece," Rob Glaubitz considers opera a contemporary art form that can connect deeply with life as we know it. 
"I think opera is still very relevant today and has something to say to modern audiences. That's one of my reasons and my passions for doing modern opera," said Glaubitz, artistic director of Painted Sky Opera. "I try to find something that is relevant to today's society in every work that we do."
Directed by Glaubitz with musical direction by Jan McDaniel, "As One" marks the first collaboration between the two OKC arts organizations as well as the first performance with an in-person audience in the theater at Oklahoma Contemporary's new downtown complex.
