Notes and tones: Homesick for January and jazz in New York

Well, it finally happened to me.
I had to cop to the fact that I’m homesick — if you can be in such a state of mind after permanently departing a place more than 42 years ago.
Nevertheless, as December 2020 turns into January 2021, I can’t deny that’s how I feel, my thoughts turning to and yearning for a visit to New York City.
I have little doubt my desire for a return visit has much to do with, as I’ve been calling it, The Thing That Took Over The World. It’s not the pandemic itself, but the fallout from the virus that has stalled travel and does not allow me to be comfortable enough to fly.
