The old indoor riding school at Bank Newton, near Gargrave
OBJECTORS to plans to ‘convert’ a semi-derelict former indoor riding school near Gargrave into eight holiday lets have been left scratching their heads after the highways authority raised no concerns.
Just more than a year ago, North Yorkshire highways objected to proposals to demolish the steel-framed structure on a track between East Marton and Bank Newton and replace it with five homes.
The application by Alice Fitton was refused by Craven District Council in November, last year, on grounds including its impact on nearby heritage assets, including grade two listed Newton Grange Farmhouse.
