'No evidence of school-based transmission' of COVID in Sudbury — union official

The closure of more than a half-dozen schools in Sudbury may give the impression that schools themselves are driving the recent upswing in COVID-19 infections, but that would be an unfair assumption, according to a teachers union rep.
“It is not a school issue — it’s a community issue,” said Eric Laberge, District 3 president for the Ontario Secondary School Teachers Federation, which represents staff in Rainbow District schools. “There is no evidence of school-based transmission.”
