Atkins' girls soccer team has been dominating opponents all season, and that trend continued as the Camels cruised to a 7-0 win over Western Piedmont 2A foe North Surry on Thursday.
A trio of underclassmen scored braces for Atkins (10-0, 9-0), with sophomore Allison Wiebking, sophomore Austin Huffman and freshman Aaryn Gabriel scoring two goals apiece. Freshman Mahala Sherrell put the final cherry on top with the seventh goal.
The Camels — ranked No. 20 in the West in HighSchoolOT's mid-season rankings — dominated possession right from opening kickoff, playing the majority of the game inside the Greyhounds' (3-4, 3-4) defensive half. Huffman played a brilliant through ball into Wiebking, who rounded the North Surry keeper for the easy tap-in goal to make it 1-0 in the seventh minute.
