Economic activities in Kaduna State have been grounded following the commencement of the five-day warning strike by the state chapter of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC).
The NLC is protesting the sacking of thousands of civil servants by the state government without following due process.
As early as 7am, the state secretariat and other government offices were padlocked and chained, while the workers converged on the state secretariat of the NLC along Independence Way, Kaduna.
Although the gates were said to have been opened by the state Vigilante Service, the workers refused to go to their offices.
