Nigeria is producing less and less oil. Here's why

Nigeria’s crude oil production has been declining since 2012. In August 2022 it fell below 1 million barrels a day, the lowest since the 1990s. And it’s lost its position as the biggest oil producer on the African continent, falling to third place after Angola and Libya.
