READERS voiced strong feeling about those breaking Covid-19 rules after it was revealed that Cumbria Police issued fines for house parties in Carlisle and Workington during lockdown.
Temporary chief superintendent Rob O’Connor revealed to the press this week that police in Carlisle and Workington broke up house parties during lockdown at addresses in Carlisle and Workington.
Speaking on BBC Radio Cumbria, he said: “It’s really disappointing, the Government guidance is clear.”
He said: “People should only leave the house for a number of reasons, if they can’t work from home, medical appointments and for legally permitted reasons like exercise, which should be taken locally.”
