concrete dolphins on the outer berth and then the dock punched two holes in the hull. in this video you can see people running from the run- away ferry. two people aboard suffered minor injuries including a bruised hip. pria clemmons from the golden gate ferry district said that low number is a testament to the strength of the dock. that guardrail is a deceptively simple looking piece of equipment but is manufactured for situations like. this it s this. like this. it s extremely effective. reporter: the ferry will have to be towed into dry dock for repairs and a coastguard investigation to determine what went wrong. the mssan francisco is inspected once a year by the coastguard. we expect the safety of life saving, firefighting, the propulsion plant, the steering system and crew competency and i want people to feel confident in the oversight program run by the coastguard. reporter: now the ferry captain, the mate and all the deck hands were immediately debriefed and
