KOHIMA — The Nagaland Olympic Association (NOA) on Saturday conducted the Olympic Day Run, in commemoration of International Olympic Day, at Indira Gandhi Stadium (IGS) Kohima on the theme “Let’s move” with hundreds of children participating in the run. Special guest for the occasion, Advisor of Youth Resources and Sports (YRS), S Keoshu Yimchunger, in his speech, said that sports can change a person’s life from ordinary to extraordinary. Encouraging the participants that they are in the initial stage, the advisor stated that “with the same spirit they have today,” they (participants) can excel and make Nagaland state shine through their hard works and sacrifices. Secretary general, NOA, and chairman IDAN, Abu Metha, said sports reflects civilization of mankind and maintained that sports is closely knitted even with the Naga society and history. He stated that sports remain one of the top priorities of the state government and that youngsters would be given opportunities to make their dreams come true.
