>> i think we're all looking at those numbers, but we know that we still have until next year for the election. it's not surprising. we've seen this historically before, where the president to win, whether that was previous presidents, have had lower numbers at this point, but i'm very confident when you look at the record, the record of what president biden has done, that those numbers will change. we have so many issues right now that the country is faced with. but if you look at what this president has done, and his track record, i am not only very comfortable, but confident that this president will again prevail. >> the poll finds biden standing has fallen across most demographic groups. but especially young people and black and hispanic voters. what do you think is driving those declines, and what can be done about it, congresswoman? the answer is absolutely yes. >> as you talk about this sense of urgency, what we are talking about the battleground states in this part polling, new york times polling, michigan has the highest percentage of arab americans in the country. wisconsin also has a significant muslim population in both states. close to biden's 2020 margin of victory, support for the president has nosedived in the arab communities since the start of the israel-hamas war, for nearly 60% three years ago, to just 17% today. last, year the white house announced new steps to combat islamophobia, and called for humanitarian pause in gaza. what further outreach needs to be done in order to get arab americans back on board with the president? >> yes, as it relates to the crisis in gaza right now, i think that it is important to remember that the president approaches this not as a politician, but as the commander in chief and leader of our country. that's why he's been cleared from day one, if israel has a right to defend itself, and also how they defend themselves does in fact matter. it is why he has been adamant that humanitarian assistance continues to flow into gaza. it's why he's been adamant that here at home, islamophobia and antisemitism aren't allowed to take root. unfortunately, we have seen from our opponents on the other side, folks like donald trump have not taken up that same mantle. they've taken it as an opportunity to fan the flames of islamophobia. when you're not busy praising hezbollah, or throwing allies under the bus, he is talking about doing things like reinstating a muslim ban, which would obviously do absolutely nothing to keep us safer at home, and would certainly do nothing to aid our allies and the time of war. and only further serve to dehumanize and demonize palestinians and palestinian americans here at home that deserve to be treated with dignity and respect for similar to every other person in this country. that contrast is going to be on the ballot, and those values are going to be the values that this president's administration continues to lead with throughout the crisis. it's going to be true in michigan and around this country. >> let's turn to black voters. some democrats have been sounding alarms about a drop in enthusiasm from but voting bloc that helped deliver the election to biden in 2020. research shows the democrats have lost support in the midterms from younger black voters, black man, and those without college degrees. these are actual voters, as you say bowling shows that trump gained. ground with black and hispanic voters, which is something that i don't understand, but that is the polling and data. i get calls on my radio show that have given a lot of money to ukraine, money in the middle east, but what is happening to us on the ground? how concerned are you worried about the messaging of what you are doing, getting to black voters? i had congresswoman beaty on earlier today, that she thinks pe problem is messaging. is it messaging? what is the message? me >> yes, i entered the part of the conversation. i think that she's absolutely right. this president's administration has done tremendous work for the black community. and so it is a incumbent upon us as a campaign to do the job of talking about those accomplishments. you have record low unemployment, historic investments into hbcus, seven billion dollars in hbcus. you have got the fastest rate of black small business creation in a generation here. it is incumbent upon us to communicate that over the course of the next year for the community. when they go to the ballot box, they need to understand precisely what this administration has done. will they take black voters for granted? the answer is absolutely not. we've lost a 25 million dollar ad campaign that is obviously going to pale in comparison to everything we are doing next year. it is a down payment on the work that we are doing, importunes did you in season, including the black community. that investment is conclusive of the largest investment of black and hispanic media. we are focused on laying the groundwork, talking precisely about the historic record accomplishment that this administration has. when folks cast their ballot next year, they know exactly what it is for this administration that has done for them in their communities. they will understand the choice between this historic record of accomplishment and the work that the maga republicans want to do the show roll back the progress that we've been able to do over the course of the past few years. >> right there on, that one criticism for black americans and others is that they simply don't know the president has done for them. the administration is tried to use the concept bidenomics to have economic successes. voter research suggests americans do not know what the concept means, and many don't feel that financially secure. how can the campaign improve on this message? we just saw what the supreme court ruling against affirmative action, we saw right-wing activists going after things like -- wanting the stops blacks from even being able to help form businesses. they're going after dei. where is the aggressive pushback from the administration when you see the ei brokers, contracts for black business people not jeopardized by your political opponents. but you're not talking about that. >> yes, as it relates to bidenomics, that's exactly right. it's not just about the accomplishments themselves. it is about the why. when this president took office back in january of 2021, we faced a historic crisis. we had the worst public health crisis of our lifetimes. we had the worst economic crisis since the great recession. they took action. it wasn't just an opportunity to correct for the acute pain that we were feeling, but an opportunity to account for generations of harm being done to our communities. generations of disinvestment from black communities. all of those accomplishments we referenced earlier, is not a byproduct of what this president wants to accomplish. he had this community in mind when he took action. it's true when it comes to the economy, is true when it comes to the freedom to which he continues to fight for. that is what is going to be on the ballot in 2024. we are going to make that case very loudly and clearly over the course of the next 12 months. we are excited to do so, because it's incredibly important. >> new hampshire is poised to present an early dilemma for the biden campaign this year. the state is pushing ahead with these plans for democratic primaries, and as early as january. even after the dnc approved a calendar movingsouth carolina to the first spot. president biden will not be on the new hampshire ballot. supporters have launched a effort, in part because of the challenge of congressman dean phillips. focusing heavily on the state, what are your thoughts on all of this?
