It's a very happy Mother's Day weekend for the parents of a 13-ounce preemie, the sixth tiniest baby born in Tennessee to survive.
Nashville education consultant Kiera O'Shea Vargas and her fiancé, Army Lt. Godwin Adabla Tsikata, got to hold their baby girl  for the first time Saturday, May 1, five weeks after she was born.

Kiera Vargas holds her tiny baby, weighing one pound nine ounces, at Ascension St. Thomas Midtown hospital May 6, 2021, in Nashville, Tenn. It's only the second time Vargas got to hold baby Sedinam since the girl was born weighing 13 ounces -- making her Tennessee's sixth tiniest baby to survive -- on March 24.
