MONROE – A 32-year-old township man is facing murder and weapon charges in the fatal assault of a woman he knew early Monday, according to authorities.
Deymis Jimenez was arrested and charged with murder and unlawful possession of a weapon, Middlesex County Prosecutor Yolanda Ciccone and Monroe Police Chief Michael J. Biennas announced.
Jimenez was being held at the Middlesex County Adult Correction Center in North Brunswick pending a pre-trial detention hearing in Superior Court.
Police responded around 12:35 a.m. Monday to a residential building on Spotswood-Gravel Hill Road where they found the body of a woman in a common area. The victim, whose name was not released by the prosecutor’s office, was pronounced dead at the scene, authorities said.
