Dombroski said he was really proud to receive the award.
“I’m really pumped right now. I want to represent myself, my people and my loved ones,” the 29-year-old Wellington local said.

Along with Dombroski, Rochelle Waters and Amelia Eades also received National Achievement Awards for their individual successes.
Waters was a committee member of the Canterbury Down Syndrome Association, as well as a competitive swimmer and an instructor for dance group Jolt Dance. She also works at Darfield Bakery.
